Privacy policy
A quiet table, without an account, advertising or cross-app tracking.

Scope
This policy covers the free, offline 1.0 release of Auntie Ruth's Mahjong for iPhone and iPad, and this website. It does not describe a multiplayer service: this release has no online play or app account.
Your game stays on your device
Game progress, table saves and preferences are stored on your device. You do not need to create an account to learn or play. Removing the app removes its local app data; copies in device backups are managed through Apple's backup controls.
Anonymous app analytics
The app uses TelemetryDeck to understand which features help people and to diagnose problems. Analytics is on by default. You can turn it off in Settings → Privacy → Share usage and crash data; the choice is remembered across launches.
- Device identifier: TelemetryDeck hashes a device identifier on the device to measure distinct installations and return visits. This is a hashed identifier, not an absence of identifiers.
- Product interaction: events such as opening screens, starting lessons, finishing hands and changing settings. Game values are grouped into ranges rather than sending your tiles or a replay of your hand.
- Diagnostics: handled problems, such as a save failure, reported as an error type, domain and code rather than a full error description.
These data are not linked to your identity and are not used for tracking. Device ID and Product Interaction are used for analytics; Other Diagnostic Data is used for app functionality and analytics. There is no advertising identifier or cross-app tracking. Sentry crash reporting is disabled in the offline 1.0 store build.
TelemetryDeck processes the anonymous signals under its own privacy terms. We do not promise a fixed retention period here; before release the operator must confirm the service's applicable retention and deletion arrangements. Turning off analytics prevents further app analytics collection; it does not automatically delete signals already sent.
Game Center is optional
If you use Apple's Game Center, the app reports achievement progress to Game Center. You can play and learn without signing in. Apple's handling of your Game Center account and data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Apple Intelligence stays on device
On compatible devices with Apple Intelligence available, computer-player remarks can be generated on the device. This on-device remark generation does not send your hand or conversation to a remote AI service.
No ads or tracking
The app has no ads and does not track you across apps or websites. This website includes no analytics scripts, advertising scripts, third-party fonts or cookies set by our code.
Visiting this website
The hosting provider processes requests to deliver these pages, which can include an IP address, browser information and requested URLs in operational logs. App analytics and website hosting are separate. Links to Apple and TelemetryDeck take you to their own sites and policies.
Before publication, the operator must identify the chosen web host and confirm its log-retention arrangements here.
Contact and privacy requests
If you contact support, your email address and the information you choose to send are used to respond. Please do not send passwords, unrelated personal information or sensitive screenshots.
Privacy contact: TODO-contact-email@example.invalid. This is a pending address, not a working support mailbox. The final operator must provide a working contact and confirm applicable access and deletion arrangements before launch.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data use changes, this page will be updated with a new effective date. Read the policy for the release you use.
